What we Do?

Our involvement with the social development sector has provided us with the experience and understanding of designing and implementing social marketing campaign by employing concepts of Behavior Change Communication (BCC), Social Mobilization, Capacity Building, Monitoring and Assessment. Understanding the importance of knowing beneficiaries before engaging them, all our plans and strategies have been recommended on the basis of a bottom up approach. The experience of working in diverse fields has provided our team with the ability to design social marketing programmes with a broader perspective, which helps make our campaigns and programmes inclusive and of high relevance. We believe our holistic approach to implement varied projects will pull off prolonged results and play a vital role to make a difference in the nation.

Nutrition Advocacy Project

The Nutrition Advocacy Fund (NAF), a project of the New Venture Fund (NVF), is dedicated to support the development and implementation of an advocacy plan that will secure clear and firm policy commitments from governments of high-burden countries to improve nutrition programs. NAF provides rapid support to Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Civil Society Alliances (CSAs) in high-burden countries to work with respective governments on the importance of making clear and firm commitments at critical moments of opportunity from 1st January 2018 to March 30th 2020. Integrated IYCF and Baal Vita Community Promotion Program

Although the with the support of agencies Integrated IYCF and Baal Vita Community Promotion Program is currently being implemented as a regular government programme more than 20 districts With the support of partner agencies and distict health offices SDPC has initiated social mobilization activities have been implemented in Achham and Kapilvastu districts to improve overall nutritional status of children of aged 6 to 23 months and coverage and compliance of Baal Vita. Post Disaster (Earthquake) Nutrition Recovery Program inside Kathmandu Valley

Children and women were the most vulnerable population at the aftermath of the great earthquake-2015. The earthquake resulted in deterioration of health and nutrition status of women and children in the highly affect districts. Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur were the major affected districts and the nutritional status of children got worsen. (Read More)

Golden Thousands Days Communication Campaign

Golden 1000 Days Communication Campaign is being implemented in 16 districts under the leadership of National Health Education Information and Communication Center (NHEICC) with support from UNICEF. Out of 16 districts, 75 VDCs from 6 districts Panchthar, Parsa, Kapilvastu, Jumla, Achham and Bajura; have been identified as an intensive behavior monitoring district. (Read More)

School Based Hand washing with Soap Programme

Majority of the population worldwide, particularly children are affected by diseases that are easily treatable and preventable. With a belief that a simple act of Hand washing can save thousands of lives in Nepal, we implemented School based Program with support from UNICEF and Ministry of Health and Population to raise awareness about Hand washing with soap as a key approach to disease prevention.. Hygiene is an important determinant of public health that influences the transmission and onset of wide range of diseases. The Government of Nepal’s commitment to meet the MDG goals and targets in health and sanitation, coupled with the country’s poor health, hygiene and sanitation situation indicate urgency to focus on cost effective preventive health care approaches and interventions. Sentinel Surveillance of Soil transmitted Helminthes (STH) for Neglected Tropical Disease Control Program in Nepal

Community Promotion of IYCF linked with Child Grant (IYCF/CG)

Although child mortality has gone down over the years, improvement in nutritional status of children has not kept pace. To address the shortcomings, cash grant has proved to be useful in reducing malnutrition in children if appropriately combined with nutritional interventions. This gains more importantly in Karnali zone where most of the socio economic indicators lag behind. Therefore, SDPC took lead as an implementing organization for the proposed project. (Read More)

Infant and Young Child Feeding Counseling - Refresher Training

Malnutrition still continues to be the most serious health problem and a major contributor to maternal and child mortality.
