Nutrition Advocacy Fund (NAF) Project( 2018-2020)

The Nutrition Advocacy Fund (NAF), a project of the New Venture Fund (NVF), is dedicated to support the development and implementation of an advocacy plan that will secure clear and firm policy commitments from governments of high-burden countries to improve nutrition programs. NAF provides rapid support to Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Civil Society Alliances (CSAs) in high-burden countries to work with respective governments on the importance of making clear and firm commitments at critical moments of opportunity from 1st January 2018 to March 30th 2020. The funding was based on the premise that Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Civil Society Alliances (CSAs) that work in high-burden countries are well positioned to advocate on nutrition issues; however, face serious short-term financial shortfalls. Under the umbrella of Civil Society This grant was awarded to Social Development and Promotion Center( SDPC) to enhance the advocacy capacity of SUN CSAs and to advance specific projects that seek stronger financial and policy commitments to nutrition. The fund provided by the NVF is a grant support.

Nutrition Advocacy Fund (NAF) Project has been implemented in the provincial no 2 and 7 aiming to increase awareness and concern of policy makers, local government, MSNP relevant stakeholder, media and general public for nutrition and Multi Sector Nutrition Plan. Similarly to acquire Written commitment from policy makers, local government, MSNP relevant stakeholder, media to work together for the improvement of nutrition status of all people especially children, adolescent and women by building integrated coordination, joining hands to hands for the improvement of food security status that support in the effective implementation of Multi-sector Nutrition Plan- II in provinces. Within the project period Social development and Promotion Centre (SDPC) has successfully implemented the Nutrition Advocacy Fund (NAF) Project engaging civil society organization to achieve the goal of advocating to government stakeholders at all levels to uphold and strengthen their commitment to second round of Multi Sector Nutrition plan (2018-2022).
